hi everyone hope you all are great on these wonderdul days we have been having said we are going to have a oct. warm up but hasnt been cold yet,well with all the goats milk i have i decided to try my hand at soap making and i am proud to say i made a batch today and it looks great so far couple of weeks ago went to my friends house she make soap to sell all the time so i watched her do it and took notes and i did it so will have some to sell at the craft shows i go to takes 3 or 4 weeks to be ready to use so just in time for christmas wow that time again allready. have 2 shows this weekend and more just about every weekend planted a big garden this year made lots of pesto and salsa raised watermellon for the first time did good lots of squash and tomatoes still making spag. sauce made tomato juice almost out of canning jars had to buy a doz. few more spag. sauce and pickled beets and that will be it was going to leave my beets in for a while longer but the deer were pulling them for me. well guess i will go and do something constructive talk to you later you all have a great day every day is good some just better than others, gail

hi all i have been so busy w/my goats oh did i tell you i now have goats had 8 but that was way to many so i cut back to 4 they are all milkers and have plenty of milk for me my daughters and i make some chevere and i always had goats all my life but got side tracked while i had my restaurant ,but this summer has been very hectic with a huge garden i planted and it did very well just the 2 of us but anyway and w/the dog bone business wow i am not 25 any more,dog bones are doing great could be busier w/them if i wanted any way my reason for writing this i am so fed up w/ things made in china being bad whats up w/that cant we have any more things made in america i made a promise w/myself a month ago that i was not going to buy anything else made in china, well last week i went to ll bean in freeport you all know who ll bean is right? well i wanted a pair of moccasins i saw in their catalog found them made in china put them back went to the outlet store found a pair of slipper socks well a good present for my daughter in law for christmas turned them over made in china as well as a pair of rubber boots and a nice looking pr. of leather boots. some clothes made in guatemala, bangledesh, oh yeah they did have a plastic alarm clock made in usa wowzers i left the store w/nothing to bad to get such high prices and you know that the people who made them were paid next to nothing or they wouldnt be made in a foreign country. does anyone else feel like me i am sick of this and will keep my promise to bad it took me so long to come to my senses, oh yes this morn. went to sams club and wanted some pine nuts to make pesto w/ and by gosh they are a product of china didnt buy got walnuts instead product of california that in the usa. i know that there are so many people in this country who really dont care but we have to start caring because they are taking over us ,we need to start reading everything we buy and just put it backon the shelfmy son said thats going to be hard not buying anything made in china well i can do it and so can you not only made in china but other countries last christmas i wanted to buy my soninlaw a sweater went to jc pennys and looked at 3 wool sweaters 1 from banglesesh,1 in guatemala and 3rd from tiawan all pretty pricy so i got off my but and made him 1 w/ 100% bartlett wool yarn from harmony maine and it meant more to him because i made it for him. well any way ive bitched enough but you get the pictureits up to us to make a change and a difference we can do it se ya,gail

i just spent 10 minutes writing this and hit a wrong button and erased it all, that sucks im not very good on here as it is so here goes again.i hope you all are having a good summer so far its great for me my dog bone business is going great just got a new convection oven this morn. just in time, my regular oven has been going steady for 10 mos. it died yesterday just a heating element i guess. my husband sold out his antique shop so now i have my own dog bone room instead of my kitchen and porch it will be nice to have them back dog bones every where literally. well 8 of us are going to point sebago over the 4th of july i feel like a ritzy tourist my husband is a golfer and i played for the first time last winter its okay but would rather be working in my gardens he says i have to play that weekend we will see about that.last summer i planted strawberries, raspberries and blueberries they are doing good guess i will get some this year my regular garden is doing despite all the rain and my flowers are BEAUTIFUL, if i do say so. my grandchildren were here for 5 days last week what a lot of fun i have with them 3 of them are coming back on monday those 3 would stay if i let them they are 4, 13, 14 the 2 older ones are going to have plenty to do got some painting for them to do they are good workers and always ready to make money of course they have to earn it the best way to go. well enough of this boring letter will write soon again , thanks for your time, gail

well here i am agian winter is here again after last week but this week is supposed to be not bad am going to florida for a couple of weeks i like winter but my husband hates the cold so we will go and have a good time driving down stopping in w, va. to visit a daughter nad then warm weather hope you all are doing good even though i like winter its allways nice to see spring the flowers mostly them so i can work in my flower garden last year i planted some raspberry and blueberry bushes hope they make it. am doing good have been watching my chlosterol now for 2 months lots of fruits and veggies and oatmeal every morn. good thing i really like oatmeal. our dog treat business is going pretty good kind of slow in the winter but all in all its quite good. what do you think of iraq? seems like a losing battle i know we have to fight terrorism but those guy like blowing them selves up and every one else with them, guess there will really never be peace for very long aalways fighting some where but over in those arab countries they have been fighting since jesus was alive. hate to see all those kids dying over there not just kids all the soldiers, god bless them all.

hi all, just a short note i am tired no sleep last nite just couldnt sleep and today busy delivering dog bones went to lunch at sarahs restaurant in wiscasset homemade crab cakes soooo good. then just got home from my grandsons #5 bday that was good to. guess its going to snow let it come we got here first i dont mind it used to go cross country sking but havent been in a few years no excuse. how is everyone doing on their fuel this year we got our heat turned down to 62 wear a sweater & sitting watching tv put a blanket over me that is ok i like it a little cool anyway, warm in the kitchen all the time w/ making dog bones will talk later just tired good nite all.
